One-to-one and group health coaching for your employees and senior leaders, before, during and after a change in their health
I'm Jo, and I coach people in demanding jobs whose health has changed, or who'd like to look after it before it does. So much of what comes up in my sessions is about work that I also partner with organisations who'd like to offer this kind of support to their people, one-to-one or in groups, from staff across the organisation to senior leaders and executives.
Three moments where coaching fits
Looking after health early
Some people come to me because they want to do something about their sleep, stress, energy, blood pressure or blood sugar while it still feels manageable. We talk about everyday habits and how they could fit around a working week, and they decide what to try.
Staying in work with a health condition
Some have a diagnosis, or symptoms nobody has explained yet, and they're carrying on at work while they make sense of what it means for them. There can be a lot of fear and uncertainty in that, and not everyone feels able to talk about it with their manager or colleagues.
Coming back after time off
And some are on their way back after time off, maybe after a heart event or an operation, and aren't sure what's ahead. I walk alongside them while they work out what they need.
Why it matters
8.3 million working-age people have a health condition that limits the work they can do, up from 6.1 million in 2014.
Health Foundation, 2026
300,000 people a year are estimated to leave the workforce with a health condition that limits what they can do.
Health Foundation, 2024
58% of over 2,000 people surveyed said they'd worked when not well enough to.
DWP, 2026
Early, work-focused and personalised support appears most effective at keeping people in work.

How it works
We talk
A conversation about your organisation, what you might already have in place, and who could benefit.
A small pilot
A few coaching places, with who it's for and how long it runs agreed with you.
Coaching
One-to-one sessions online or in person at my practice, or in small groups, at a pace that suits each person.
A review
A report on uptake and an anonymised summary of what changed for people, in their own words.
Everything said in sessions is confidential, and nothing personal is shared without the employee's agreement. Coaching isn't therapy or medical treatment, and it sits alongside the support people get from their GP, and from occupational health or an employee assistance programme if you have them.
Ways I can work with you
One-to-one coaching
For employees and executives, online or in person at my practice.
Group sessions
For small groups of staff, at your workplace or online.
Workshops at your workplace
For staff, managers or leadership teams.
All of it can be tailored to your organisation. I also work with a small network of trusted associates, in areas such as nutrition, who can be involved if your people need them.

Who I am
Dr Jo Cranwell, PhD, BSc (Hons), CPsychol, FHEA
- Health & Wellbeing Coach
- UKIHCA Registered Professional Health Coach
- Association for Coaching accredited coaching qualification
- Personalised Care Institute Practitioner
- Chartered Psychologist and Associate Professor in Public Health
My coaching is evidence-based and question-led, drawing on positive psychology and behaviour change theory.
I have a very busy and demanding job, alongside some wider challenges, and she helped me think about my health in a much more balanced and practical way rather than making it feel like another thing I had to ‘get right’.
Let's start with a conversation
